MAHJONG TOY DESIGN

“ At three… I am a toddler imagining the circles were wheels on trucks and cars going round and round. At six, the other kids and I run around building towers and forts out of the tiles… At fifteen there is laughter and stories, and drinking and Mahjong. I sit at my grandmothers’ table playing through a limited memory of its characters.”

This Bauhaus reinvention of traditional Mahjong gives children and adults alike a newfound appreciation for the game whilst staying true to its social history. Through this, the game bcomes a living representation of how our culture has changed and continues to change.
